Speed Up Your Work and Do It Easier with These Windows Shortcuts

Windows has so many ways to help you with your daily computer tasks. There are a lot more benefits and features to Windows than most PC users are aware of. As a rule, most individuals have no problem learning the basic functions that Windows offers and don’t try to find out what else they can do with their operating system.. To help you get more familiar with the possibilities, the following are some useful Windows tips to keep in mind.

Your life will be simpler if you efficiently use the Windows taskbar. You use the taskbar to switch between running programs or to load a program you want to use. If you want, or need, to run more than one version of the same program at the same time, this can limit you. Normally, this isn’t possible. All you’ll get is the version that’s already running when you click om the program’s icon. If you are in a situation, however, where you need a different instance of a program you are running to open, you can do this by first holding down the SHIFT key and then clicking on the icon of the program. Do this as many times as you need to. Each time, you will open a new copy of the program.

It doesn’t hurt to have a spare copy of your Windows operating system in the event it needs reinstalled.

The best way to do this is to get a large capacity USB drive and copy Windows onto it. This will give you the reassurance of knowing Windows can be reinstalled easily on your computer, or another computer if necessary. Because a USB flash memory is faster than using a disk or a download from online, you can install Windows much faster.

You can make Windows run faster by maintaining only software that you actually use on your computer. Your new PC will most likely come pre-installed with many software programs and applications. There’s a good chance you will not even open some of them. Needless to say, your computer will run slower because of the memory these programs hog. It’s an easy matter to delete the programs and software that you have no interest in. There are software applications listed on your start-up menu that open when you start your computer. You can make your computer run faster by disabling the programs that you don’t want to open this way. What’s the point of having start-up run slow simply to open a bunch of applications that aren’t necessary?

There are many ways to enhance your use of Windows and you may as well find out what they are. The above are just a few helpful tips that can make Windows run more efficiently. Your reasons for using a computer are as unique as you are, and you can make your daily work easier and more efficient by learning more shortcuts. Once you open your mind to learning new ways of using Windows, you’ll find there are many possibilities.
